Twitter Space Downloader

Paste the link to any public X Space and save it as an MP3. Works on recorded Spaces and on Spaces that are still live. Free, with no account and nothing to install.

Download a Space that has ended

When a host records a Space, X keeps it after it ends, and anyone with the link can listen again. Paste that link here and the whole conversation downloads as one MP3, from the first minute to the last.

If the host did not record it, the Space is gone once it ends. X does not keep it anywhere, and no downloader can fetch something that no longer exists. That is the reason to record one while it is still running.

Record a Space that is still live

Paste the link while the Space is happening and press download. Recording starts at that moment and keeps going until the Space ends or you stop it. Stop whenever you like: what has been saved so far is a complete, playable MP3.

Only the part from the moment you press download is captured. While a Space is live, X publishes just the last few seconds of it, so the conversation before you joined is not available yet. If the host is recording it, download it again after it ends to get the whole thing.

What file you get

An MP3 at 192 kbps. A Space is speech, and at that rate it is indistinguishable from the original stream. MP3 is the format that opens everywhere: phones, computers, car stereos, podcast apps and every media player.

An hour of Space comes to about 85 MB, so even a three-hour panel fits comfortably on a phone.

Where the link comes from

Open the Space on X, tap Share, then Copy link. A Space link looks like x.com/i/spaces/ followed by a short code.

There is a faster route: in the address bar of any Space, change x.com to downloadthisx.com and press enter. The download page opens with that Space already read.

On a phone

Everything happens in your browser, on iPhone, Android or any computer, with no app to install. On iPhone the file lands in the Files app under Downloads; on Android it goes to your Downloads folder.

When recording a live Space on a phone, keep the browser open and in the foreground. Locking the screen or switching apps can pause the recording, and a long Space is easier on a charger.

Using what you record

Keeping a Space you hosted or spoke in, or listening offline to a public conversation, is ordinary use. So is quoting a short passage under fair use.

Republishing is different. The people speaking hold rights in what they said, and recording a Space does not transfer them. This tool reads only what is public, adds no watermark, and keeps no copy of anything once your download stops.
